OLIVE CADET’S STRAIGHT PANTS IN PEACH-SKIN BRUSHED COTTON TWILL
$89.99
These straight-legged pants are cut somewhat relaxed. The inspiration for these pants was the officers’ or cadets’ pants of old, flat-fronted with a choice of side adjusters or belt loops. These are meant to sit on the natural waist and are cut straight. They were made from a classic peach skin twill chino cotton with a slight natural stretch. This is a perfectly elegant pair of pants for home and work. The pants are high-rise, but you have options to design to your will. Fully handcrafted to last, these pants have two side pockets and two welted hip pockets. The cuff is about 17-18 inches (53-55 cm) in circumference (you can edit this to your desired cuff measurement).By default, these pants have buckled side-adjusters, hardly ever needed since the waist will be to your specification. A pattern will be cut and the pants made for you once you order your size or submit your measurements. If looked after, we guarantee these pants to last a decade or more.

These pants are pretty incredible. Even after looking all over the description and pictures, I was surprised by the intricate detailing everywhere on the pants that may have slipped my mind after waiting for them to deliver. For $100, the quality is honestly ridiculously good. They have a high stitch density and the fabric is a lot softer than I had anticipated; it definitely feels like peach fuzz. There is also a nice amount of stretch that comes with the twill weave, which is surprising since most 100% cotton pants don’t do that. The cuff at the bottom has a blind stitch which looks unique compared to my other pants that just have a backstitch at the cuff, along with a black strip of cloth that protects from fraying which is a pretty cool detail. The inside is unlined, but the fabric they use for the pockets and waist is a really nice black cotton, which I assume is the same fabric as the shell, and compliments the olive color really well. The crotch also has an extra round piece of cloth that spans from the bottom of the fly to where the rise and inseam meet, which I think enhances durability and helps to prevent chafing. I’m not sure exactly what the side adjuster metal is made of, but it looks like brass, and it looks like the zipper from YKK is made of brass as well. The leg is spanned with a flat-felled seam on the outside, and the inside with an invisible stitch. The back of the waistband also has an ancient relic called the after-dinner split, which is pretty cool to see since sadly, no one puts it on pants anymore. You can see it in the last photo they show. One last thing is that the buttoning point on the waistband uses three buttons, which has one facing towards you to the left of the zipper, and two to the right of the zipper on the waistband facing away, with one of the buttons hidden under the larger flap of fabric when fully buttoned. There was only one problem I had with the ordering process though. When you order your size, they ask for the outseam instead of the inseam, which can be confusing. I ordered a 14 inch rise and a 44 inch outseam, which you would assume is a 30 inch inseam, but to get a 30 inch inseam, you would need to order a 43 inch outseam, since the inseam curves inwards a little bit when laid down and measured. So I would advise taking the exact outseam of pants that fit you perfectly or simply taking off .5 or 1 inch from the outseam measurement that would equal the rise + inseam measurement. I don’t mind it too much though, since the longer leg gives my pants a little bit of break when they hit my shoe instead of dragging on the ground. Overall, I really appreciate the quality and care that was taken when designing and making the pants. A well deserved 5 stars.
